For EJ, managing IT is a lot like being a great waiter: "You don’t need your presence to be known, but you don’t want it to be unknown either". As VP of IT Operations, EJ works behind the scenes to ensure clients stay productive, focused, and efficient—no matter what obstacles his team has to climb to make it happen.
Bridging the Gap With over 25 years in the industry, EJ realized early on that his superpower was bridging the gap between technical staff and executive leadership. He excels at translating business goals into technical execution. His service-oriented mindset comes naturally; he grew up working in his parents' service station, learning firsthand how systems work together to move things forward.
Why Envoy? Before joining the team full-time, EJ admired Envoy’s drive to evolve. He believes Envoy "punches well above its weight class," delivering enterprise-level value that larger firms often can’t match. His favorite part of the culture is the genuine camaraderie. "We can communicate openly, work through obstacles, and rely on one another because we know our intentions are aligned," he says.
More Than a Vendor EJ’s hope for every client is that they feel they have an ally, not just a service provider. He wants clients to walk away feeling heard and understood, knowing that Envoy is invested in their long-term vision, not just closing a ticket.
Off the Clock Outside of the office, EJ is a family man who treasures time with his wife, grown children, and grandchildren. He is deeply involved in his local church, serving on the media team and leading classes.
The Karaoke King Don’t let the executive title fool you—EJ will never turn down a karaoke night. A true child of the 80s, his musical taste ranges from heavy metal and grunge to yacht rock and country. And yes, he’ll even admit to appreciating early Taylor Swift for the songwriting. He also loves a good road trip, preferring to drive rather than fly so he can enjoy the journey (and the road snacks).
